Fasten off leaving tail for sewing.

Handle:

In purple:

Make a slip knot leaving enough tail at the start to use for sewing that end later on.

Row 1: ch 3, starting in 2nd st from hook: sc in nxt 2 st (2)

Rows 2- 18 (17 rows): ch 1, turn, sc in nxt 2 st (2)

Fasten off leaving tail for sewing.

Sew the end of the handle to the top edge of the main piece, going over where you fastened off on the main piece. Find a loop nearby and fasten off- go through the loop but don't pull through all the way, leave a loop and go through it from behind, pull tight to make a knot. Weave the tail through the back of the stitches on the inside of the main piece and trim excess. Then make sure that it's straight in line with the top and sew the bottom of the handle to the bottom edge by going through the remaining loops. Fasten off in the same way and weave end inside.

Sew the spout to the main piece making sure it's in line with the handle when you look at it from above, sew the bottom edge of the spout to the 2nd round up from the bottom, then continue around in a circle. Fasten off in the same way as before and weave end inside.

Daisies- make 4 (2 with pink petals, 2 with white petals):

In yellow:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr, sl st in nxt st (6)

Fasten off leaving short tail.

Petals:

Pull up loop of white or pink in same stitch you slip stitched in. Ch 5, sl st in 4th st from hook, slip stitch in next yellow stitch, repeat for 6 petals. Fasten off and weave all tails into the back of the stitches. You can go through a set of loops on the back with 2 tails and then use loops on the opposite side for the other 2 tails. Trim excess.

Stems:

Cut 4x 9cm pieces of florist wire, make a bend 3cm from the end, at a right angle. Push that short end through a yellow loop on the back of the flower, then bend the short end so it's straight against the long end.

  • Wrap the florist tape tightly all the way around the stem starting at the top, wrapping around the short and long piece. Cut it at the end and wrap the end around the end of the stem.

  • Take the green yarn and start tightly wrapping it around the stem leaving a long piece at the start free to use for sewing to the flower later on, wrap it all the way down the stem- make sure you do this as soon as you've wrapped the tape around the stem because the stickiness will help the yarn to stick to it. When you reach the end, cut the yarn leaving about 1cm, then fold that upwards and use a small piece of tape to wrap around the end tightly to cover that short piece.

  • Thread the short green tail onto your needle and go through a yellow loop on the back and fasten off in the same way as before, weave tail into back of stitches and trim excess.
