Fasten off leaving long tail. Thread onto needle and close the hole by coming up through the front loops only of each st from the outside, pull tight to gather stitches together. Find a loop nearby, go through it but not all the way- leave a loop and go through it from behind, pull tight to make a knot. Weave end inside body, come out at the side, trim excess close to the edge of the work and use the end of your needle to push the end inside.
Beak:
In yellow:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)
Rnds 2- 4 (3 rnds): sc in every st (6)
sl st in nxt st, fasten off leaving tail for sewing.
Sew beak to face across rnds 6-8, in the middle of the eyes, by going underneath both loops of each stitch and picking up loops from the surface of the stitches on the face. Fasten off and weave in end, trim excess and push end inside.
Snood:
In red:
Row 1: ch 9, starting in 2nd st from hook, sc in nxt 7 st, sl st in last st (8)

Sew the top edge to the top of the beak in the middle, so that it curves over the beak and hangs down, make sure the right side of the stitches face outwards, then weave through the beak and come out at the side where it hangs over it, join with a couple of stitches so that it doesn't flap around. Fasten off and weave end through beak and head, trim excess and push end inside.

Row 7: ch 2, turn, (dc in nxt 5 st, 2 dc in nxt st) x6 (42)

With the right side of the stitches on the last row facing you, pull up loop of beige in corner st, ch 1, sl st in same st, sc, dc, 2 tr in nxt st, dc, sc, (sl st, sc, dc, 2 tr in nxt st, dc, sc) x6, (7 shells in total)
Fasten off leaving a 70cm long tail for sewing the lines on.
Weave through the back of the stitches of the shell that's closest and come out where the sl st is, then make a diagonal line going across and then going in at the bottom of row 1, then come back out a short distance from where you went in, just making very short lines on the back, and make another diagonal line going up and through the sl st of where the next shell starts, then weave through the back of the next shell and repeat, creating 6 lines in total and 7 segments. Find a loop nearby on the back and fasten off in the same way as usual and weave end into back of stitches, trim excess. Weave in short brown tail from the magic ring into the back of the stitches.
Wings:
Make 2, in light brown:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)
Rnd 2: inc in every st (12)
Rnd 3: (sc in nxt st, inc) x6 (18)
Rnds 4- 5 (2 rnds): sc in every st (18)
Rnd 6: (sc in nxt st, invdec) x6 (12)
Rnds 7- 8 (2 rnds): sc in every st (12)
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing. Trim tail from magic ring and push inside. Flatten piece so that the last st you did is at the corner. Sew to the sides of the body on rnd 21, by picking up loops from the surface of the stitches and going through both layers of stitches on the wing (the stitch directly opposite on each side, under both loops). Fasten off in the same way as before by finding a loop nearby on the body. Weave tail through body and cut yarn close to the edge of the work, push end inside with your needle.
Feet:
Toes- make 3, don't fasten off on last one:
In gold/ yellow:
Rnd 1: 4 sc in mr (4)
Rnds 2- 3 (2 rnds): sc in every st (4)
Fasten off leaving short tail, trim tail from mr.
Joining the toes:
Rnd 1: Put marker in last st you did of the last toe, sc in the st after where you fastened off on the second toe, sc in nxt st, sc in the st after where you fastened off on the third toe, sc in nxt 3 st, sc in nxt free st on the second toe, sc in nxt st, sc in nxt free st on the first toe, sc in nxt 3 st (12)
Rnd 2: (invdec) x6 (6)
Fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Trim short tails a bit and push inside.
Sew the feet to the bottom of the body across rnds 32 and 33, going through each of the 6 stitches on the last round, so that the feet are flat and he can sit.
Sewing the back feather piece on:
Thread the long brown tail onto your needle and weave through the loops on the straight edge until you get to the second row (the 12 stitches), sew to the bottom of the body (on rnd 30) in a straight line, then weave through to the middle of the back of the body and sew the middle of the piece down with a couple of stitches so that it stays upright and doesn't flop back down. Fasten off in the usual way and weave in tail, trim excess and push end inside.
The turkey is finished!
