Check out my Youtube video tutorial for this pattern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGYerr6DHMM

If you're interested in making the other flowers in the photo, the patterns are also on my website and Youtube channel.

Materials needed:

DK yarn in white, yellow and green

3mm crochet hook

Stitch marker

18 gauge florist wire- comes in standard length- 36cm

0.5mm wire for the stamens- I used copper wire for jewellery making

Abbreviations (US crochet terms):

st- stitch

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

hdc- half double crochet

dc- double crochet

Petals- Make 6 in white:

Rnd 1: ch 22, starting in 2nd st from hook: sc in nxt 2 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, dc in nxt 14 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, 4 sc in last st, work on other side of chain: hdc in nxt 2 st, dc in nxt 14 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, sc in nxt 2 st (44)

Rnd 2: sc in nxt 2 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, dc in nxt 14 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, sc in nxt 4 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, dc in nxt 14 st, hdc in nxt 2 st, sc in nxt 2 st (44)

Fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Weave tail from the slip knot into back of stitches, trim excess.

Assembly:

Lay out 3 petals next to each other with the right side of the stitches facing you, thread the tail from the middle petal onto the needle. On the petal to your left: find the st where you fastened off, skip the next st at the bottom and count ahead 6 stitches, place marker in this 6th st but don't close it, then on the middle petal: count backwards 6 stitches from where you fastened off, put the marker through this st and close. Sew these 6 stitches of both edges together, start by going through the first st after the skipped bottom st on the first petal, then go through the second sc after where you fastened off on the middle petal, then go in and out as normal.

Find a loop on the back of the petal nearby, go through it but not all the way, go through the loop from behind and pull tight to make a knot and fasten off.

Repeat this for every edge until edges are sewn together, and there should be a hole in the bottom where you skipped those bottom stitches. Then repeat this for the other 3 petals, this is the second layer.

On on layer, weave all the ends through the back of the stitches for several stitches and trim excess. Leave the tails on the other layer, push your hook through the opening of the bottom layer, wrap the tails around the hook and pull them through the hole. Position the top layer so that each petal sits in the gap between the petals on the bottom layer. Push it inside.

Thread the tail onto the needle and find a loop nearby on the bottom layer, fasten off in the usual way, weave tail into the back of the stitches, trim excess. Repeat this for each tail, but on the last one don't weave it in, we will use that tail later for closing the hole.

Stamens and stigma:

Make 6 stamens and 1 stigma

Cut a 26cm long piece of the 0.5mm wire, fold in half. Take yellow yarn and tie a knot around the left hand side of the wire, approx 2cm before the bend. Wrap the yarn around tightly until it covers 2cm, then bend each side together so that there's 1cm of yellow, wrap the yarn around almost to the top of the wire loop. then back down again to the knot, tie in a knot with the short tail from the first knot. Cut yarn leaving short tail. Take green yarn, hold about 1cm of it vertically on the wire near the bottom of the yellow, hold it with your thumb and start wrapping it around tightly, starting at the bottom of the yellow, wrap it around the double thickness of wire and the yellow yarn strands, until it covers 4cm (the whole thing will be 5cm covered in total). Then use the short bit of yellow and tie it in a knot with the green, cut the yarn. Then bend one piece of wire upwards and cut at the endpoint of the yarn.

Make 5 more.

The stamen is made in the same way except only using green yarn.

Hold all of them together with the ends lined up and the stigma in the middle of all the stamens. Take the florist wire and measure 5cm from the end, bend at this point at a right angle. Take the stamens and stigma and line them up so that the points where the yarn ends is at the bend of the florist wire. Then take the florist tape and tightly wrap it around all of it, stretching it and pulling it down at an angle. Wrapp all the way to the end and cut the tape at an angle leaving 1 inch. Wrap the end around the bottom of the wire.

Push the end into the hole in the middle of the petals, then bend the short 5cm piece downwards and push it through a space in the petals, near to the hole, pull through. Thread white tail onto needle, go through the loops at the bottom of the layer of petals (approx 6), pull tight to gather these together which closes the hole around the stem. Fasten off and weave tail in through back of stitches.

Then bend the short piece as close to the long piece as possible, take the florist tape and wrap around tightly, you can stop when you get to the end of the thin wire pieces. Take the green yarn and starting at about 6-7 inches away from the end, wrap it tightly around the whole length of the stem, making sure there aren't any gaps. The stickiness of the tape will help the yarn stick to it. When you get to the end, cut the yarn when there is 2cm left of length, then unwrap the tape at the end and wrap it around the yarn to secure, trim excess.

Thread the green tail at the top onto needle and find a loop nearby to fasten off. Weave end in to the space between the petals, cut excess and push in end with yarn needle.

Open out the petals and now it's finished, you can make more and display in your favourite vase.
