Rnd 24: sc in every st (42)

sl st in nxt st, fasten off leaving tail and weave tail into the back of the stitches on the inside.

Feet- make 4, in beige:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)

Rnd 2: sc in every st (6)

Rnd 3: (sc in nxt st, inc) x3 (9)

Rnd 4: sc in every st (9)

sl st in nxt st, fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Push tail from magic ring inside the feet and trim excess if needed. Position the feet on the underside of the bowl and sew 2 at the front and 2 at the back, with each one being in the position of the corners of a square.

Ears- make 2, starting in beige:

Row 1: ch 7, starting in 2nd st from hook: sc in nxt 6 st (6)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in nxt 2 st, sc2tog (4)

Row 3: ch 1, turn, (sc2tog) x2 (2)

Row 4: ch 1, turn, sc2tog (1)

Fasten off leaving tail. Weave tail down the diagonal edge of the triangle by picking up loops from the ends of the rows, stop when you get to the bottom corner.

Pink inner piece:

Row 1: ch 3, starting in 2nd st from hook, sc in nxt 2 st, fasten off leaving tail. Place the pink piece on top of the beige triangle and sew the bottom edges together, then sew around the other 2 edges. Fasten off and weave ends through the two layers, cut the yarn close to the work. Use the end of your needle to push the ends inside. Sew the bottom edge of the ears to bowl, starting slightly to the left of where the front feet are sewn on. Use both loops of the stitches on the last rnd and pick up the beige loops on the bottom edge of the ear. Tie the two tails together and weave into the back of the stitches. Sew the other ear on, leaving a gap of 6 stitches.

Nose, in pink:

Row 1: ch 5, starting in 2nd st from hook sc in nxt 4 st (4)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, (sc2tog) (2)

Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc2tog (1)

Fasten off leaving tail for sewing all around edge. Pin the nose to the face in the middle, so that it's an upside down triangle. Sew all around the edge by picking up beige loops from the surface of the stitches. Fasten off and weave ends into inside of bowl.

Eyes

Cut a 40-50cm piece of black yarn, tie a few knots in the end to stop it coming through the stitches, thread onto needle, come out through the face from the inside and make a french knot- hold onto the yarn with your thumb and first finger, with your other hand place the needle horizontally and wrap the yarn around twice, keep holding onto the yarn all the time, turn the needle so it's vertical, go through the same space and pull through all the way so that it goes through those 2 loops on the needle. Come back out on the opposite side and repeat for the other eye, then find a loop on the inside close to where you came out of, make a loop around it and go through the loop to make a knot, this fastens off.

Mouth

Cut a length of black embroidery thread- 40-50cm, tie knots in the end, go through the inside of the bowl and come out under the nose, make a vertical line going over 2 rnds, then make a diagonal line going up to the rnd above, go back through the same point and make another diagonal line on the other side. Fasten off on the inside in the same way

Whiskers

Cut a length of brown embroidery thread- 40-50cm, tie knots in the end, go through the inside of the bowl and come out at the side of the nose in the middle, make 3 diagonal lines all, going back into the same point each time, weave through the inside and do the same on the opposite side. Fasten off on the inside.

Tail, in beige:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)

Rnds 2- 26 (25 rnds): sc in every st (6)

sl st in nxt st, fasten off leaving tail for sewing. Flatten the end and sew to the back of the cat in the middle by picking up loops from the stitches and going through both layers of the last rnd, then sew up the length of the tail to the bowl for a few stitches so that it stands up straight and sticks to the side of the bowl. Fasten off and weave end through to the inside.
